Internet Hollywood: What’s popping Dashawn?! Thank you for giving me the time of day to share your plans for the new year with us. I wrote up a few questions for you to answer that will hopefully cover everything we want to know and paint a clear picture on what you got in store for the near future. How did you celebrate the coming of a new year and what are some of the things you cooking up for the new year as far as projects are concerned?

_

Dashawn: Well I really didn’t celebrate as much. I just stayed home invited a couple of friends over for a drink or 2 of wine and champagne and we saw the ball drop from my home. And me and my friends brought in the new year together with big things in store for new projects, I will be preparing for my up and coming makeup seminar, still in the blueprint, but be on the lookout for that and more clientele building.

_

Internet Hollywood: You’ve explored many products while expressing yourself creatively and everyone that takes a stroll through your page could see how awesome you are at what you do. For those that don’t know, what kind of services do you provide and how much do you charge as far as rates are concerned?

_

Dashawn: Well I do full makeup application weather it’s for photoshoots weddings special occasions events birthdays etc and as for my rates I normally charge $60 full makeup with a $30 booking fee all through cash app and if you have your lashes it goes down to $55, for my photoshoots I charge $100 for a full day and that’s with a $50 booking fee all through cash app and mini services I do like just eyes for just the brows $25 for all my mini services and yes tip are accepted lol but that basically it

_

Internet Hollywood: What products have you grown to love using now that you treat clients and how has your perception about makeup changed since you first started now that you’re more experienced?

_

Dashawn: Well there a lot of products I love to use but the one product that will never leave my kit is “La Girl Pro Concealer” it’s my absolute favorite product to use they come in various shades and they are good for every skin tone and it has been a staple in my kit ever since how my perception changed is when I didn’t really know about of things when it comes makeup like I didn’t know the color wheel I never did my research but as I grew and started learning the business and the artistry it was smooth sailing for me because I now had the education and knowledge to get better and better with time and patience and I’m still learning till this day so at the end of the day you can never stop learning your craft so as long as you love doing it then everything is smooth sailing

_

Internet Hollywoo: What stimulated the drive that made you want to get involved with makeup and is there a bigger vision beyond the goals you wish to conquer that leads to a must bigger dream you imaged or no?

_

Dashawn: To be honest it was actually by accident that got into this profession I just started getting really intrigued by people doing makeup and I wanted to try it out at first I wasn’t serious about but as I started watching a YouTuber by the name “beatfacehoney” I was so mesmerized on how they way she put colors together and glitters and how she did her eyebrows it was so cool to me I started from there and that’s how I started and there’s really not a beyond vision that I want to conquer but the goals that I have dreamed up I’m working towards such as photography and aswell as singing because I love to sing aswell so I feel like god gave me these gifts for a reason so might aswell work towards achieving all of them.

_

Internet Hollywood: Last question; what are some of the do’s and don’ts when it comes to starting your career off as a makeup artist and what is the biggest lesson you learned that all beginners should keep in mind when they start?

_

Dashawn: Do’s and don’ts in my opinion sanitization is EVERYTHING always keep everything if you have a lot of brushes and some are dirty and some are clean always have a plastic bag in hand to put all dirty burshes in so that you don’t mix up everything because that’s cross contamination and you don’t want to get sued if some products are old THROW IT AWAY it’s no good no more it’s past it’s usage date always wear black when you go to clients house or when you work at a salon wearing black means professional and biggest lesson I learned as a makeup artist is “never stop learning” because when I started out I had no education about makeup at all so that plays a big part in the beginning stages of becoming a makeup artist is to keep. Learning about new products seeing how they work study under pro artist look at fashion and beauty magezines find classes or seminars to go to learn your craft as long as you have the knowledge you will be successful.

_

Internet Hollywood: What is your main goal and where do you hope it takes you when you accomplish it and do you feel you came closer to that goal last year or do you feel it wasn’t a good year at all for you career-wise?

_

Dashawn: Thank you for the interview, Dashawn!
