Beyond The Lens – Independent Massachusetts model & actress Ileana Carranza has been such a beautiful person all around and her beauty continues to blossom as she continues to pursue her goal as an actress and model. I jus recently discovered these fascinating pictures of the model that was taken by an incredibly talented photographer by the name of Don Christian. They were posted on her Instagram that wasn’t too long created and is now a few hundred followers away from having 1,000 in total.
I caught up with the model to ask a few a questions about her career and she kindly responded with short answers of her own but gave me enough to make a full story. She is definitely someone I’m very interested in writing more about in the future. Enjoy the interview!
~*~*Beyond The Lens /w Ileana Carranza*~*~
Internet Hollywood: Hey Ileana!! Welcome to the Internet Hollywood universe! It’s always a pleasure having new faces appear across our front page for the first time. Learning about their goals has been very educational and fun for me. It’s also something that definitely motivates me to keep doing what I’m doing now. So to start off, could you fill our readers in on who you are and what field you are exploring – talent-wise?
Carranza: Thank you for having me on Internet Hollywood!!! So, my name is Ileana, obviously lol. I’m an actress based in Boston with some experience modeling.
Internet Hollywood: When did the thought of becoming a model become a reality and what were some of the first steps you took to get started as an independent model?
Carranza: So, I never really thought of becoming a model because I just didn’t think I had that potential. But I still remember my first photoshoot. A director (Leeroy C. Farrare), who I worked with previously, contacted me and asked if I wanted to do a photoshoot and I was a bit perplexed and I was like “are you sure?” and he said “yeah”. So one summer day, him and his assistant director (Brianna Oliveira) met up in New Hampshire and did the photoshoot outside in an alley. Then we went to this hookah shop and they asked the owner if they could use the space to shoot some photos and he actually agreed! Then the owner asked if I would pose for his website! So then I ended up doing a shoot to promote this man’s hookah shop. Talk about a turn of events. It definitely gave me a boost of confidence and it was all thanks to Leeroy and Brianna. Then I did a second shoot with Thanne Hobson. I contacted her because I noticed and these beautiful photographs that she was taking of models and I wanted her to photograph me. We met up and it was one of my favorite shoots to date. I have so many pictures from that shoot that are amazing. But, one day I changed my profile picture to one of the pictures that she had taken and I noticed a change and I did have people contact me. I owe her a big thanks too.
Internet Hollywood: I definitely told you how much potential I felt you had to be even greater than you are now. I honestly feel soon you will tap into that energy and will bring out that beast from within. You have a good amount of content on your page from past collaborations with photographers. One of my favorite people that you worked with was Beautiful Chaos. What are some of your favorite themes to model in when it comes to photo shoots?
Carranza: Beautiful Chaos is also one of my favorite people and still one of my favorite collaborations since. My profile photo was taken my Beautiful Chaos and I think she captured something special and I feel like if it wasn’t for her, I never would have been noticed. When it comes to theme, I can’t think of a favorite. I’m so indecisive about everything, so asking to choose a favorite will always be a difficult question for me!
Internet Hollywood: Are there other things besides modeling that you want to take on as a career for the long term?
Carranza: Definitely acting, there are no doubts about that. That is my passion. I love bringing characters to life and just being on set, it’s just this whole different world that I love. Just thinking about it makes me happy.
Internet Hollywood: Is signing to an agency something you want to do in the future or do you wish to stay independent?
Carranza: I believe I would like to sign on to an agency in the future.
Internet Hollywood: What are some of the things that go through your mind when your doing photoshoots?
Carranza: Depending on what I am wearing, I like to create a character and put on some sort of attitude that I hope can transcend onto a photograph. But at the same time I always think, “I hope my poses aren’t too bland.”
Internet Hollywood: You recently published some really nice photos from a photoshoot you did with a photographer name Don Christian. Do you have any more photoshoots in the works?
Carranza: I do have a shoot coming up later in the month.
Internet Hollywood: Last question; If things go the way you would like to (as a model) where do you see yourself being around this time next year?
Carranza: Hopefully, by then I have made more connections and gained a lot more experience.
