Beyond The Lens – MA photographer Joey Feliciano (Ehro) is back and giving us the inside scoop on all of his plans and what he has going on now that we are getting deeper in the year. Feliciano is responsible for many amazing memories captured at Internet Hollywood’s last party in August of last year. He ignited a light that lit up the entire Parkade Cinemas with flashing cameras that brought out amazing photos from the event. It was only a matter of time before I reached back out to him to talk about a few things. I hope you enjoy reading the interview as much as I loved doing it!

Internet Hollywood: Happy New Year Joey! Welcome back to the Internet Hollywood universe. The last time you made front page news on Internet Hollywood was back in October after your comment on my video was shared in a story on Internet Hollywood. I definitely appreciate that and I am definitely excited to find out what’s going on with you. How has 2018 been treating you? Have you made a resolution?
Feliciano: thanks for having me and for the support! My resolution for this year is to become better at what I do! I’m focused on trying to get more exposure and on attracting more potential clients for editorial and high fashion.
Internet Hollywood: You have some awesome work that could be seen all over your Instagram pages that includes collaborations with many beautiful models. I am definitely a fan of your work and I know others that are too. When did you first develop a strong interest to pick up a camera and put it to work in the photography field?
Feliciano: My father is to blame on that! When I was in 5th grade he bought a Canon A1 film camera that he let me used for family portraits! That inspired me to keep wanting to make photos and figuring out how the whole aperture, speed and ISO with was called (ASA before for film) work together to create effects and professional looking photos! It was always a thrill to see the photos on paper and it was a great learning experience for me!
Internet Hollywood: What was the hardest thing to adjust to when learning how to use a camera and what was the first camera you ever bought?
Feliciano: The first camera that I personally owned was a Minolta maxxum film camera, a kit lens, and a flash! I was the king of the world (that’s how it felt) that was back in 1987 and I had joined the USArmy Reserve just to make enough money to buy equipment! The hardest thing that I think I had encounter is basically the transition between film and digital! On film, you acquire more knowledge cause you have to do everything manually and you won’t know if you did a mistake until you see the print. Once your brain gets used to it going to digital was like giving a smartphone to your grandparents (you feel lost) LOL.
Internet Hollywood: Who are some of the people that you are interested in collaborating with this year?
Feliciano: This year I’m opened for a more high fashion look! Editorial type photos like VOGUE and other popular magazines! I have a few models on my list that I know that will be perfect for those types of photos! But that been said! I’m open to any model that wants to have the opportunity to step up their portfolio with quality work and new ideas.
Internet Hollywood: One of the newest beauties to land on Internet Hollywood’s front page is a beautiful friend of mine by the name of Hailey Nakaya. You were definitely one of the first few to work with her and the pictures that came out of that collaborations was nothing less than perfect. How was it working with Hailey Nakaya and who are some other models you would like to work with?
Feliciano: Working with Haley was great, we actually did two photo shots (one of them I’m still working with) she takes direction real well and she is an easy going person! Like I said before I have a list with models that will fit perfectly the look I’m aiming for! But also this year I’m working with lots of talented kids of a local model agency that have great potential in Modeling, acting and fashion runways!
Internet Hollywood: Where did the name Ehro originate from?
Feliciano: Ehro is a tribute to the man that got me hooked with photography (my father) his nickname is Hero (in Spanish is pronounced “ehro” so that’s why I switch the first to letters because i didn’t want the pronunciation to change!
Internet Hollywood: Last question; What are some of the things that you are working on now?
Feliciano: Some of the things that I’m working now are a beauty pageant from West Springfield “Miss Latina Western Mass” and I’m also doing work for “Loose Gravity Model and Talent Agency” I have a project called ehro-tik that is about fine high-class boudoir and hopefully I can do a steampunk photoshoot with the fabulous Eve Xastur! I’m still gathering stuff and props for this one!
Internet Hollywood: Thank you for the interview, Feliciano!
