Events – Diamond Fashion Week is underway in Connecticut and got the inside scoop on what’s been happening from their co-executive producer Karlene Lindsay. I learned about the event earlier this month when Karlene told me after I got in touch with her to find out what was she working on. She told me about Diamond Fashion Week and sent me an email to get all of the details I needed to write up this story. So far the casting, rehearsal, and press release/meet & greet are done and the Fittings & Last Rehearsal, Designer Shoot and DFW 2018 Competitors shoot is coming up before the main event in West Haven, CT on September 29th.
The event was put together to showcase Designers, Make-up Artists, Models, Media, and Photographers. This will be their second year of an annual crowning of three models. The awards will be from social media favorite, most photogenic, and runway awarding. They’re expecting anywhere between 150-200 people in attendance. The remaining press release shares the rest in great detail:
Diamond Fashion Week was established in 2016 with our first show featured in New York at Toshi’sLivingroom and Penthouse. We had models from NY, NJ, CT, MA and the surrounding areas wearingdesigns from Chocolate Angel Boutique and Karlene Lindsay Designs just to name a few. Diamond Fashion Week is aimed at exposing emerging designers and models of all ages and sizes to the fashion world, recognizing that people of all ages and sizes like fashion and want to be fashionable. This push to showcase all ages and body sizes wearing high fashion, is in keeping with international trends to promote more diverse body types in fashion to Connecticut, throughout the U.S.A and worldwide in the near future.
