I’m glad we were able to make that happen. Enjoy the interview!

Internet Hollywood: Hey Connie! Welcome to the Internet Hollywood universe. It’s always an exciting feeling to learn about new people in interviews. I look forward to reading all of your answers. Before we start, could you give us a brief history about yourself and what you do?

Diforo:  Thank you for having me. I am a former banker, a local fashion designer, the producer of Fashion for our forces benefit ball and host of fashion tv here in Boston. I am an entrepreneur. I originally started as a model for Barbizon Model and Talent agency, went to compete for IMTA in LA (Hooray for Hollywood) and became the second runup for fashion print. then I decided to branch into designing.

Internet Hollywood: When did you grow so passionate about designing clothes that you chose to pursue it as a career and was it hard learning how to design?

Diforo: I’ve always been passionate about fashion. My Mom loves to dress up, my grandma made our clothes and growing up, every Sunday we would be dolled up heading to church. I used to look forward to Sundays because that’s when I get to wear my dressy outfits. Learning to design wasn’t hard. I used to help grandmother, I’m self-taught. I did, however, take some patternmaking classes and got mentored by Shirley Willett, one of the most talented women in the industry and I’m proud to be one of her proteges.

Internet Hollywood: Fashion has always been a way of life and it doesn’t look like anything is going to change that anytime soon. Many people take great pride in wearing clothes and even feels there are bigger meanings behind what they wear. Many people just find something cool to put on then take it from it there. My next question; when you design clothes do you feel like you express how you emotionally feel or do you just think of something cool and bring it to life?

Diforo: When I design, it depends what I’m designing for. I like to express my emotions, versatile pieces, I like to design for that bold woman so she stands out.

Internet Hollywood: What are some of your favorite products to design?

Diforo:  I focus on dresses.

Internet Hollywood: Do you plan on doing fashion shows this year to show off some of your sets?

Diforo: This year I plan on continuing with the fashion for our Forces show where I will show Mesese products mostly my African prints. This show will be September 30th in Boston. I am also planning the Mesese Fashion TV soft Launch in June-July with a mini fashion show.

Internet Hollywood: I also saw that you were into TV hosting, which leads me to believe you have television goals. Is that something that you are hoping to accomplish more in the long run?

Diforo:  I’m hosting my own fashion TV show that I produce. My goal is to use it as a marketing tool. I don’t have any plans to work for anyone else on television but to push my own and see where it takes me. I do know that we are on the right track with it. More things will be announced at the soft launch.

Internet Hollywood: What do you look for in models you’d choose to walk in your fashion shows? Do a model has to possess a certain quality?

Diforo: Ohhh… don’t get me started..hahaha.. I don’t even mind training my own models, in fact, I had to give up the idea of a model agency to TV hosting. I look for different features but also depending on the pieces I’m showing. I also like to be different, where people expect me to use models of color on ethnic pieces I use different models. again, unique facial features, bone structures matter to me.

Internet Hollywood: Last question; are you currently working on anything at the moment?

Diforo: I have been invited to cover Fashion Designers’ Craft Makers’ Network in New York on April 28.We are very excited to be invited for the third time to cover it.

Internet Hollywood: Thank you for the interview, Connie!
