Interviews – For the first time ever, I finally interview a very talented independent model from the state of Connecticut named Lotus. We have been connected through the world of social media for years but never really took the time out of our days to work on an interview of our own. But as time continued a way was provided for us to make this interview happen and I’m glad that we did. I hope you enjoy reading the interview!
~*~*Interview /w Lotus*~*~
Internet Hollywood: What’s up Lotus?! I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to chat with me for InternetHollywood.com. I definitely feel this interview was long overdue and I’m glad we could get to it now without stalling. Now lets start off with your background. Could you give our readers a brief background story on who you are, where you from, and what you do?
Lotus: I’m a freestyle dancer with experience in choreography. I’m located out of East Hartford. I started singing dancing at the age of 6 or 7. I was in a show choir ( group competitions)for most of her school career. I’ve won mayor of Newark Dance champion in NJ in 2015 and have also won battles in New York events as well through the years . I traveled as far as Atlanta and California just to compete. She’s also competed in Battlefest League in Queen of the streets for 3 years. I’ve also performed at Jacobs Pillow in 2017 and on the World of dance stage in 2018.
Internet Hollywood: What inspired the drive that made you want to pursue modeling and what vision did you have for the future when you imagined how things would look when you made it into a career?
Lotus: It honestly started from home. I would do anything to support my family so the idea to become famous to gain financial stability to help my family was my motivation. Through the years it was hard to keep my head up when things got rough. But I continued to push and pursue so that one day I will achieve the dream of my parents face when I can tell them they don’t have to work anymore and I will take care of everything. I love them so much.
Internet Hollywood: I’ve asked many others before about the types of photo shoots that made them the most comfortable and I always got some interesting answers, so I’m going to ask you as well. Now that you’ve grown more experienced in modeling what kind of photo shoots do you feel the most comfortable doing and is there anything you haven’t done that you would like to try out?
Lotus: So although I don’t have extreme modeling experience my most comfortable photo shoots are the ones in the works I can dance or create something of the shoot through my flexibility. I like to push my limits. I would love to do a body paint shoot. That’s a goal. If not the model then the painter.
Internet Hollywood: When did painting become something you became really passionate about and now that your actually doing it what kind of services are you offering the clients you get?
Lotus: So when it comes to art in general I started sketching and drawing in the fourth or fifth grade due to my brother because he is an artist. he inspired me to start dabbling in the arts I didn’t start painting until a few years ago and I started painting on canvases so that’s what I started selling first. then I decided to push myself into other areas such as clothing and or items. so after I started customs that’s when my clientele started to raise due to the high demand of custom clothing.
Internet Hollywood: How did the process of becoming a dancer come about and is dancing something you wish to make a career out of as well?
Lotus: I started taking dancing professionally in 2012. After high school I decided that regular jobs weren’t really my thing. (To each is their own) I was an entertainer and I knew that. So I made it a mission to get paid doing what I loved and I hoped to inspire others to do the same.
Internet Hollywood: Are you currently working on anything right now that you would like?
Lotus: Anything that I’m working on currently is under wraps until it’s solidified. I’m big on not speaking about things because you find that you never do finish if you boast. But I can tell you I have a couple of projects in the works but the most recent videos I’m in are: “Unstoppable” choreo By Daisy Infantas (I choreographed the tutting section), “On My Mind” choreo by Woojyie, “Saturday” choreo by LoveLace Productions. I also just did a dance cypher gig for a Lavish All white Party in Greenwich.
Internet Hollywood: Thank you for the interview, Lotus!
