Beyond The Lens – Social Media Marketer, Model and Blogger Samantha Gottlich has a lot to say in a recent interview we did to kick off the new year. I have been strongly interested in interviewing Samantha for a long time but didn’t really have the time to get around to it. As soon as I found the time I got in contact with her and asked if she would like to do the interview, she said yes. Shortly after, I sent over some questions. I hope you enjoy the interview!
~*~*Beyond The Lens /w Samantha Gottlich*~*~
Internet Hollywood: Welcome back to the Internet Hollywood universe Samantha! The last time you made front page news on Internet Hollywood was back in July of last year when a report came out that stated you were going to attend the Internet Hollywood party in August of that year. Although you weren’t able to attend, you were definitely there in spirit. How has the new year been treating you and have you made a resolution?
Gottlich: 2018 is off to a great start! A week into the new year, I had my second publication as a model released, traveled to Canada twice, represented several brands at events in MA and CT (got to love traveling for work!), decided to take on a new client to market for, had my first princess party, and signed a contract to sell my paintings to a company.
Internet Hollywood: You definitely wear many hats when it comes to the realm of talent and anyone could explore that world if they visited your website (samanthagottlich.com). You are a blogger, marketer, model and also an actress. When did you develop the passion to fill all of those shoes and which do you have the strongest love for?
Gottlich: Honestly, I could write a full novel about my background of developing my passions but I could sum it up. I started gymnastics at 5, acting when I was 6, playing guitar at performing in musicals at 10, doing comedies at 13, at 14 through 16 I was writing, publishing and performing slam poetry, and at age 17-18 I was copywriting and directing my own plays. From 18 to 20 (my age now) I started runway modeling, painting and blogging. In the meantime of when I was in highschool, I started to market the activities I was apart of (theatre and literary magazine) because I was proud of the organizations I was part of. My junior year of high school, I saw the power of marketing when more people came to our shows and bought our books. Of course, I love my passions, but I love to see people enjoy my passions more. Therefore, I market the things I’m passionate about! From my experience of seeing how proper marketing helped my passions gain success. There is no such thing as one singular thing having my heart because all of them are tied together!
Internet Hollywood: What types of films do you feel best suits you as an actress?
Gottlich: I don’t consider myself an actress and would rather not act in films. If I was to choose a medium to perform, it would be events and commercials. I enjoy being a character as well as a representative during events and I like acting in commercials due to branding and marketing and being apart of a brand’s marketing strategy.
Internet Hollywood: I just started checking out your blog and I think I think it is an amazing column on your website. You really go deep into the details of your experiences in your life. I also read that you went to the African American Culture & History Museum. How was that experience?
Gottlich: Thanks for checking out my blog! I’ve been published as a poet and copy written as a playwright so writing has always been in my blood! Therefore, I started my blog to continue that. I appreciate the compliment! I went to that particular museum over a year ago during a trip with my university. 50 students were selected to drive to DC and I was one of them. It was a life changing experience (as you probably read in my blog!).
Internet Hollywood: What are some of the things that you are currently working on?
Gottlich: A magician never reveals their tricks All I can say is keep eyes out on my platforms for new projects…
Internet Hollywood: What are some of the things that come to your mind while your filming or doing a photoshoot?
Gottlich: When I shoot, I choose photographers who are genuinely my friends. With having such a booked schedule, it can be difficult to find time to shoot. But, when I do, I make sure it’s fun and creative. So when I shoot, I remind myself to have fun, enjoy myself, and let my creativity shine! My most successful shoots have been the ones I allowed my creativity to flourish so I keep my mind tension free and creativity flowing!
Internet Hollywood: last question; What are you hoping to gain if you manage to accomplish all of your goals this year?
Gottlich: I don’t really set goals! I just write things on my bucket list and keep it in the back of my mind. I do hope to gain new knowledge, new skills, and new insight through pursuing my new ventures. I’ll be turning 21 on 2/9 so hopefully, a new year of wisdom and insight is underway!!!
Internet Hollywood; Thank you for the interview, Samantha!
