Sophia Adolphe talks about modeling, becoming a modeling coach, being a vegan baker, her upcoming fashion show, and more!

Beyond The Lens – Model & Modeling Coach Sophia Adolphe is a new face that I never really got a chance to interview until the middle of last month. We’ve been connected through Facebook for quite sometime so I felt it was only right to get in contact with her to dig a little into her background story to learn about her, her passion, career field, dream, and goals. After sending an invitation for the interview she kindly accepted then answered every single question I had to ask. I hope you enjoy reading them!

Internet Hollywood: Welcome to the Internet Hollywood universe Sophia! It has been a busy weekend for me with all of the interviews I have been doing and I’m glad that I could add you to the lineup of interviews we got going on this month. I’m hoping to gain some more knowledge from this conversation. I’m sure someone of your creative abilities got a story to tell. Before we begin, could you fill our readers in on who you are, where you from, and what kind of career your building?

Sophia: I’m originally from Canada, born in the beautiful city of Montreal. I moved to the United-States in 1999 where I’m continuing this journey of life. Because I don’t settle for one goal, my career path have a lot of layers and Modeling is one of them.

_

Internet Hollywood: What made you decide modeling was something you seen yourself doing and what inspired you to want to become a modeling coach later?

_

Sophia: This question always brings a smile to my face, I personally never thought of it, until my father signed me up to Barbizon modeling school. He came home one day and say “what do you think about modeling”? I didn’t have an answer except for “I know I will have to dress up and walk the runaway, I’m cool with it” I knew then I was going to love it! Coaching just came after I took myself out of the modeling scene for a couple of years and want it to help others. Models would always say they love my walk. I also knew that Boston didn’t have a scene for upcoming models so I want it to create a small platform where they can train with me.

_

Internet Hollywood: Being a person that coaches others to better others not only show the leader that you are but it tells us you notice the mistakes beginning models have when it their starting off. What are some of the biggest mistakes you notice models make in the beginning stages of their career and what kind of services do you offer them to improve their abilities?

_

Sophia: The first thing I say in rehearsals to all the models is that modeling has a disciple and the disciple is the walk, you have the master the walk by understanding the techniques. You’d be surprised, the model that are just starting are easier to train, the one with experience is challenging because they think what they already know enough. We always learn new techniques, new poses. Just like any sports or even photography, you’re always learning and their s always something new to improve. I offer one on one or group training depending on their comfort level. The walk is intense and repetitive. Poses are very important in training, it also helps develop confidence on the catwalk and on your regular life journey.

Internet Hollywood: You also mentioned you were a vegan baker that also works non-profit to help low-income families with home insulation. Where did the interest in baking as a vegan come from and what made you want to invest your time in helping others in need of assistance if your not getting anything back from it?

_

Sophia: You know, culinary and baking was always part of my passion. At a very young age, I was already prepping and cooking food for my younger sibling. I found comfort in cooking and the creativity is endless. One day I had the craving, the craving of having the most delicious fudge brownie, I knew the only way I could indulge in it, was for me to make it. So my very first brownie I made was a Carob peanut butter brownie and let me tell you it was amazing. So for months, I’m in the kitchen just experimenting with different flours and egg replacement to get the consistency I was looking for. Helping people just come easily to me, I’m just an individual that understand struggle and respect peoples past. I want to be there for individuals that need the support, just that extra hand. A lot of folks don’t know they can get their home weatherized at no cost as long they’re income eligible for the program. It’s an assistance they already can request whether they work full time, part time, fixed income or unemployed, and some people don’t ask for help out of pride. I want to be that voice for them, the person that tells them yes you can improve your life and this is what you need to do.

Internet Hollywood: I seen you have an event coming called Blood & Fashion. Could you full us in on what that event is about and what it will consist of?

_

Sophia: This is actually my first time to be part of The Blood & Fashion show, and I’m looking forward to it, there will be a lot of local artists involve showcasing their talents. This show is also in conjunction with raising Mental Health Awareness. The show will feature a diversity of acting elements, there will be a silent play, a fashion show displayed through performing arts and a wonderful assortment of multicultural dishes for the guests’ enjoyment.

_

Internet Hollywood: Here’s one of my favorite questions right now; Now that your far more experienced at what you do, what has been the biggest thing you learned and did you have to change anything about yourself and the things around you to keep yourself focused and motivated?

_

Sophia: Right now my main goal is to launch my catering business Sophia’s brownies & Treats. So I have to focus there on a lot of paperwork and permit and license I need to have in order to fully operate. I have a lot of new recipes I’m looking forward to sharing with everyone.

_

Internet Hollywood: Thank you for the interview, Sophia! Keep up the great work!
